Browser-local processing

Tools labelled local process selected files or text inside the visitor’s browser. Those inputs are not intentionally uploaded to the WikiTech Tools server. Browser memory, temporary object URLs and downloads remain under the visitor’s device and browser controls.

Public diagnostic requests

Website, DNS and TLS tools send the submitted public hostname or URL to a protected server route because browsers cannot perform every network check directly. Requests are limited to HTTP and HTTPS, private and reserved networks are blocked, response sizes and timeouts are bounded, and rate-limit counters are stored temporarily.

External APIs and libraries

YouTube tools may send a public video or channel identifier to the official YouTube Data API when the site owner has configured a key. OCR, PDF and QR pages conditionally load specialist browser libraries from documented content delivery networks. Those providers may receive ordinary connection information such as an IP address.

Analytics and advertising

Product events may record that a named tool opened, completed, failed or exported. The event does not contain uploaded files, pasted text, passwords, document names or submitted URLs. Advertising and optional analytics must follow the active consent configuration.

Retention and contact

Security counters expire automatically. Aggregate counters may be retained for product maintenance. Contact tools@wikitechlibrary.com with privacy questions.
